Comic’s name: Kiwi blitz
Creators: Mary Cagle
What is the comic about: From their site: “It chronicles the adventures of a couple teenagers’ attempts to fight crime in the not-too-distant future. Imagine an American superhero cartoon mixed with a Japanese mecha anime, and you’ve got the basic husk of the comic’s existence.”
How is comic drawn: Heavy Anime-styled art and coloring.
How often updated: updated every Tuesday and Thursday
What else does the website offer: There’s a blog, and a pretty robust shopzone offering collected editions, posters and even original art.
What do I think of the site’s overall design: Very simple and to the point, but very clean and well organized, with a nice usage of pastel colors and cartoon graphics. This site is very easy on the eyes.
What do I like about the strip: This is a well-rendered, well-planned story with a lot of cool mech action and likable characters. I also like the fact that you don’t necessarily have to start at the beginning to understand what’s going on.
Why should YOU read it: Mary was an intern for Scott Kurtz (of PvP fame). Read this strip and you’ll see the results.
