Comic’s name: Saint’s Way
Creators: Yasmine Liang
What is the comic about: A young, superpowered girl on the run tries to make a life for herself in a post-apocalyptic New York City. Hijinks ensue.
How is comic drawn: beautifully rendered Deco-styled art. Reminds me a lot of Thomas Mucha and the Luna Brothers. Colors are mostly soft pastels, which add some humanity to the art.
How often updated: Updates every Sunday
What else does the website offer: Just a blog and an RSS feed. There’s also a link to yasmine’s Deviantart portfolio.
What do I think of the site’s overall design: It’s a pretty unspectacular standard Comicpress layout.
What do I like about the strip: I’ve seen a lot of webcomics that have flat out gorgeous art. This is one of them. The amount of skill, technique and overall heart put into each panel is awe-inspiring. The art grabs your attention and doesn’t let go, page after page after page. Pacing, panel layout, even the nice touches of characters and word balloons occasionally breaking the panel border all add to the ambiance of the art. Oh, and the story is decent, too.
Why should YOU read it: If you visit this site and don’t immediately take a liking to the art, then you don’t have a soul.
ESRB rating: 14 and up.
