Comic’s name: AnnySeed

Creators: Stuart J. Brown

What is the comic about: A young (at least in appearance) vampire orphan is adopted by quirky Vamp parents and sent to a spooky high school. Hijinks ensue.

How is comic drawn: drawn in a cutesy, goth-manga style. Reminds me a bit of the Bratz line of toys, and some of the goth indie comics I’ve seen. Colored in shades of grey with some red splashed in for effect. Backgrounds are really nicely rendered with alots of detail.

How often updated: Updates every Monday and Friday

What else does the website offer: Exclusive prologue, Character bios, a Youtube channel, shopzone, development journal

What do I think of the site’s overall design: The site has an interestingbackground pattern, but the layout it nothing spectacular.

What do I like about the strip:  For the story to be about a Vampire, the characters in this webcomic have a lot of humanity in them. They start off as archtypical characters you’d normally see in other stories, but as you read, you see there’s some real depth to them. The story moves at a graphic novel’s pace, so it takes a while to really get going, but that also gives you time tog et to know the characters on a deeper level.

Why should YOU read it: This is a very unique comic with a different take on Classic horror tropes. It’s most definitely worth checking out.

ESRB rating: PG-13.
