What is the comic about: Join underground rap sensation Mega Ran (Bka Random) as he attempts to win the ultimate rap battle!
How is comic drawn: Hybrid of urban and anime style of art, reminiscent of what you’d see on The Boondocks cartoon.
How often updated: Not sure. Doesn’t say when new pages are added. Just keep checking back periodically.
What else does the website offer: Section with bonus character art, Blog, link to “TGP” which is another webcomic created by the Smith boys, and links to other affiliated webcomics.
What do I think of the site’s overall design: it’s actually a pretty unique design, with the company logo in the background. I like that the pages of each chapter are all right under each page. Some of the navigation can be wonky, though.
What do I like about the strip: Aside from the fact that I’m a HUGE fan of Ran’s music, this is shaping out to be a quality webcomic. The art is crisp and expressive, and the way the “powers” of the rappers are handled is done in a unique way. Reminds me a lot of the AWESOME anime Jo-Jo’s Bizarre Adventure. My only complaint is that there aren’t more pages to read. Oh, and there is also a free video game and Rap album that tie into this comic, too.
Why should YOU read it: Anime rap battles starring a rising underground rap star. What’s not to like?
ESRB rating: PG.
