Comic’s name: Dreaming You

Creators: Rochelle “Gaming Pixie” B.

What is the comic about: A disembodied subconscious fantasy struggles to make a life for herself apart from her host in a world full of peril.

How is comic drawn: Very delicate, cartoony style of artwork, similar to what you’d find in Elfquest and A Distant Soil.

How often updated: Every Friday

What else does the website offer: Blog, movie and video game reviews, Description of the world, Glossary, And even video games based on the story. This site is loaded.

What do I think of the site’s overall design: The site design complements the webcomic, and there is a LOT of stuff going on in the site design. I’m not a fan of multiple fonts, and I think she should make the webcomic the foremost item on the site because it is the main engine that makes all of the tie-in projects like the video game attractive. But as long as you can get to the webcomic easily, it’s not a big deal.

What do I like about the strip:  I admit I’m a little biased towards this webcomic. Pixie is an old friend and classmate of mine, and I’ve read her writing before. She has a real knack for epic fantasy stories that still maintain a personal touch, and this is something that definitely comes forth on Dreaming You. On top of that, the idea behind the story is compelling. What happens to your fantasies once you’ve outgrown them? Do they have a life of their own? It’s an idea worth exploring, and This story does just that.

Why should YOU read it: Pixie is an immensely talented storyteller with a very unique, intriguing concept. This one’s worth a look.

ESRB rating: PG14.
