What do I like about the strip: growing up in the 1980’s, I was a HUGE fan of the classic video Game Xevious. It, Galaga and Gyruss are the games that really got me into the old school shoot ‘em up genre full of quick deaths, insane power-ups, waves of enemy ships and huge, screen-filling bosses. Imagine my surprise to find a webcomic based on that game. It is a pretty straightforward action Sci-fi story, and there isn’t much connection between the story and the game, save maybe for the design of the fighter ship. But that’s okay, because the story is a quick, entertaining read with a lot of action and just enough character development to not bog anything down. It’s a classic intergalactic battle story, and it is well told and rendered.
Why should YOU read it: This is one of a series of webcomics based on classic video games, but even without the license, it’s a great sci-fi combat story.
