Comic’s name: Walking on Broken Glass

Creators: Caytlin Vilbrandt and Samantha Mathis

What is the comic about: A werewolf executive pines for his triggerhappy secretary while they fight a horde of supernatural threats.

How is comic drawn: Very stylish, cartoony style of artwork, elegant linework is reminiscent of Terry Moore’s “Strangers In Paradise”. Early strips are in B/W, but eventually everything gets rendered in muted pastels.

How often updated: New page every Sunday, Special sketches every Thursday

What else does the website offer: Cast bios, Forum, Separate archives for the comic and for special “sketch comics”, wallpapers and fanart gallery.

What do I think of the site’s overall design: Straightforward site design, with the nice broken glass image in the background. The comic is big, bold and front-and center, and the navigation is simple and clean.

What do I like about the strip:  The thing that mainly drew me in was the artwork. I like the deceptively simple, stylish design, and the characters are well rendered. The relationship between hero and heroine is unique and actually grows as the storyline progresses, and I also dig the interplay between the more fantastical supernatural elements and the more mundane office dramady stuff.

Why should YOU read it: This is a nice, quirky cross-genre conic book with very impressive art. Give it a try.

ESRB rating: Teen (not a lot of graphic sex or violence. occasional swear word, but deals with some mature themes that the lil’ ones might not be ready for yet).
